The Wire Stop from Rigguy creates a strong termination on EHS cable without the need for lags, thimbles, through-bolts, wraps, wire clips, or other terminal hardware. Rigguy Wire Stops are secured on the outside of the limb or trunk. It makes a more finished and less cluttered installation because of its simplicity and small size. Choose from 3 sizes depending on the size of cable used. Also available in cases of 20.
- The Small Wire Stop works with 3/16" and 1/4" EHS Cable.
- The Large Wire Stop works with 5/16" and 3/8" EHS Cable.
- The Ornamental Wire Stop works with 3/16" EHS Cable and was developed for use on smaller trees like Dogwoods.
The internal taper of Rigguy's Wire Stop fits over the middle strand of 7-strand EHS cable with the six remaining strands surrounding it. The more pressure that is applied, the deeper the taper is pulled into the block and the more grip force is applied. The block is aluminum, and the taper is made of stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. Although the wire stop is only 1 1/4 inches long, it holds close to 100 percent of the breaking strength of the strand itself, which is more than 15,000 pounds (if using 3/8" EHS strand).
